Growing up, Peggy learned whole food awareness from homemade meals prepared by her parents. From this experience, she began cooking in the kitchen at an early age, always being creative in the way she prepared a meal. Around her late teenage years, she became interested in her own personal health and took various massage and fitness classes. These awarenesses helped to bring her to the next step of her healthy journey.
In the late 1990’s, when her father was diagnosed with testicular cancer, Peggy felt there had to be an alternative therapy that would help her father while undergoing chemotherapy treatments. Her research led her to find out about the benefits of a Macrobiotic Lifestyle. When she took macrobiotic cooking and nutrition classes, locally and at the Kushi Institute, she became aware of the benefits and philosophies behind Seasonal Cooking, healing properties of Whole Foods, and how to strengthen your body using these tools.
Her love for cooking started getting referrals to cook for people with various cancers and other illnesses, traveling to Erie, Pennsylvania and as far as Ojai, California. She saw many improvements in people’s health and state of mind because cooking with health awareness can bring such peace and calmness into your life. Peggy has been teaching about and cooking for good health over 15 years.
Along with her Macrobiotic training, an early age interest in Asian culture led her to study Zen Shiatsu Bodywork in 1999. Attending the International School of Shiatsu in Doylestown, Pennsylvania for 18 months and receiving her certificate in 2001.
Once this training was completed, Peggy started to offer Zen Shiatsu to her cooking clients and realized the benefits of Healthy Cooking, Zen Shiatsu bodywork and Energy Therapies to create balance and a Healthy Lifestyle. This became the beginning of Creative Balance.
